It's been a severely strange showgoing week. Via
The Volume, here are my accounts of Monday night's
Mötley Crüe show at Madison Square Garden and Tuesday's
David Thomas Broughton gig at the Living Room. The former was what pretty much what you'd expect, though perhaps even a little
more bombastic/excessive than whatever mental picture you're currently conjuring. The latter straight-up floored me. Laal had turned me on to DTB's recordings, which I'd found to be respectably eerie and hypnotic. But this show was something else entirely, namely borderline terrifying. Don't sleep on
this guy (pictured above).
